How long has Funtastic Creations been in business?

Funtastic Creations programs have been operating in Brisbane since 1999. Our founder, Dr Melinda Richards, has devoted her career to the development of programs which provide education for young children in their movement abilities. She recognized the need for affordable and accessible motor development programs as 30% of young children have coordination problems and are developmentally immature in their physical abilities.

What does a Funtastic Creations business license entail?

Funtastic Creations programs may be delivered within child care centres as an extra curricula activity. The program is also designed to be delivered in hall locations. There are 22 differently themed classes.

What type of qualification or experience do you need to operate a Funtastic Creations business?

Developing your business will require the ability to develop and implement a sound business plan. As we provide very detailed Curriculum developed by a very experienced exercise physiologist, it is not necessary to be qualified in movement or early childhood education.

Business development opportunities

Child Care Centres

Delivery of the programs within Child Care Centres by your own instructors where you collect fees from parents.
Negotiate arrangements with Centres whereby the fees are charged within the Child Care Centre fees.
Offering a limited license to Child Care Centres and the Centre staff deliver the program. Classes in Centres are run for 30 minutes and use a range of props.

Within Hall Locations

Hall classes are run for 45 minutes and use the same range of props as in a Child Care Centre.
Hall classes also offer a range of specifically designed equipment for practicing the skills which are being taught.
Opportunities may exist for active lifestyle type of grants or sponsorship of programs through State or Local Government schemes.
Hall locations should be suitable for the activities and air conditioned.
Hall locations are ideally in commercial locations in or near shopping centres, malls, etc.
Business development is progressed through direct negotiation with Child Care Centre Directors. The concept of extra curricula activity in Centres is well accepted, however, it is usually the individual Directors decision which activity will be available within their Centre.
Being a service industry, well trained instructors with a love for children is essential.

What support do your licensees receive?

Licensees are fully supported with regard to the program, curriculum, administration and promotions.

What type of instructor training is provided by Funtastic Creations?

We are able to provide full training for instructors depending on the location of the business license holder. We also provide training DVD’s, a full set of detailed Curriculum and easy to use reference guides.

What is the total investment needed for a Funtastic Creations business license?

The investment required will depend on the size of the market. As a guide the investment includes:

A license fee and one-off administration fee will be required. The administration fee covers the preparation and supply of a complete set of Music CD’s and Training DVD’s together with samples of promotional, administrative and personnel management materials.
Equipment lists and suppliers will be provided but ordering and purchasing will be undertaken by the franchisee.
A full set of Curriculum and cheat sheets which will be supplied digitally.
